Summer is here!
Summer is heating up all around us. By now area pools are in full swing, plans for beach trips are either in hand or furiously being finalized and for the shoppers the search for that perfect summer outfit is nearly over. The spirit of summer and pride is upon us.
I am filled with immense gratitude for the incredible community we have built together at Diversity Richmond. For 25 years, our vision to be a welcoming, inclusive and safe place for all has been the driving force behind our work as a catalyst, a voice, a place, and a resource. This milestone is a testament to the unwavering support, dedication, and love from each and every one of you.
As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we reflect on the progress we’ve made and the challenges we’ve overcome. We honor those who paved the way and those who continue to inspire us with their courage and resilience. Your support of who we are and what we do for our community has been the cornerstone of our success, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
Diversity Thrift, the brainchild of founder Jon Klein, celebrated another year of being voted the area's best thrift store in Richmond by both Richmond Magazine and StyleWeekly. This honor would not be possible without your generous donations and continued support shopping with us every time our doors are open.
I am also thrilled to announce the addition of six new members to our Board of Directors. Their diverse experiences and fresh perspectives will undoubtedly strengthen our organization and help us navigate the exciting road ahead. Please join me in welcoming

We are excited to see the positive impact they will bring!
Here’s a little thing to know about me…I love birthdays! I think every year deserves celebration. I am especially fond of doing it big for years ending in 0 and 5. There’s something special about starting out and reaching midpoints.
To mark our 25th anniversary, I am inviting you to help us raise funds that will ensure our continued impact in the community. Since our anniversary (aka birthday) this year ends in a 5, I’m asking each of you to consider making a small donation of just $5.
Every dollar raised will go directly towards supporting our programs, services, and events that enhance and uplift our community. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference. Together, we can create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. Your extravagant kindness, unwavering support, and radical belief in our mission to be the LGBTQ+ community hub of Greater Richmond connecting people, partners and programs inspire us every day.
Let’s celebrate this milestone with pride and look forward to many more years of making a difference together.
With gratitude,
Rev. Dr. Lacette Cross
