A New Year, A Deeper Commitment to Community

As we step into a brand-new year, I’m filled with hope and gratitude for the vibrant community we’ve built together. At Diversity Richmond, our 25th anniversary reminded us of the incredible progress we’ve made and the opportunities ahead to strengthen the bonds that unite us. To sit back, reflect and reminisce on all the ways community has been the glue that keeps us together.

The start of this new year has already shown how important community is when so many of us didn’t have water or electricity, there were so many more offering us to come over to take showers, be warm and just be together.  

2025 is already showing us how valuable and necessary community is. 

In 2024, we celebrated milestones that demonstrated the power of belonging and the impact of working hand-in-hand with you, our community. Now, in 2025, we look forward to new opportunities to deepen our work together as we face an uncertain future. 

This year, let’s dream boldly. Let’s raise our voices to be heard and celebrate our diverse identities. Let’s lean into the values of accountability, belonging, and making a difference—values that remind us of the power of community. Let’s build a community where every contribution matters - attending an event, volunteering your time, or making a donation to sustain the work that connects us all.
