Your Donations Make a Real Difference

Last year, Diversity Thrift processed and sold an astounding 150,743 pieces of clothing, including over 7,000 pairs of shoes, 2,100 purses, and almost 12,000 pieces of baby and children’s clothing. Your clothing donations made this possible. Your purchases matter too. When you buy new clothing, your money is most likely going to a large corporation which may or may not have DEI policies consistently supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our first name is Diversity! And your purchases help fund the programs of Diversity Richmond, pay our mortgage and utilities so we can provide a safe space for our community, and cover staffing.

As one of the few clothing donation centers in Richmond, Diversity Thrift plays a crucial role in providing affordable clothing to those in need. Last year, we gave away nearly $40,000 worth of clothing through our voucher program, allowing individuals and families to select the items they needed most, free of charge.

Diversity Thrift is also committed to environmental sustainability. Your donations and purchases help the environment by reducing carbon emissions and conserving water. This cuts down on textile waste and offers an ethical alternative to fast fashion.
