Black and Bold Reunion

The Black and Bold awards are a celebration of the experiences, contributions and voices of Black LGBTQ people and African American allies. The inaugural celebration took place in February 2017. This year we hosted an invite only Black and Bold Reunion Reception, Friday, February 24th. The event was held at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. We extended invitations to past individual and organizational honorees. Over the course of 7 years honoring Black Queer excellence, Diversity Richmond has had the privilege to uplift 54 total honorees:

47 individuals
5 organizations
2 posthumous honorees.

As we look to the future, we are committed to continuing the Black and Bold Awards. We also want to develop intentional programming that expands Black and Bold in responsive and relevant ways. If you are a former honoree, please take a few minutes to complete this survey.
