Donations we DO NOT accept
Due to safety concerns, limited floor space, and cost to our organization to sort and dispose of unsellable items, we must limit the types of items we accept. We do not accept any damaged or dirty furniture, and medical or potentially hazardous items that could be a liability. Exceptions to most categories are vintage (pre 70s) items or new items still in the packaging. Staff has discretion to refuse any item for donation on the basis of its condition.
Electronics: No large pieces of old technology, vintage accepted with manager approval
- NO Old TVs (we accept flat screen TVs)
- NO Old computers, old CPU monitors/equipment
- NO Copy machines or large printers/scanners
- NO Exercise equipment (heavy, unsafe to display)
- NO Large appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washers, driers) that are over 3 years old, dirty, or non-functional
Kids Items: Vintage toys and furniture accepted
- NO Cribs, car seats, baby beds, or strollers (safety liability)
- NO Toys that are broken or missing pieces
- YES Stuffed animals and clothing
- YES Puzzles, board games, Legos, and new toys
- YES Bikes
- YES New baby items like bottles and diapers
Health Risks:
- NO Helmets (unless new in package)
- NO Hospital beds or medical equipment
- NO House paint, spray paint, or hazardous chemicals
- NO Flammables or items with fuel/gas containers (e.g. grills, gas-powered mowers)
- YES Crutches, walkers
Other Furniture: Must be in good condition, vintage accepted with manager approval
- NO Bed frames, mattresses, box springs, or waterbeds
- NO Sofa beds, sleeper sofas, recliner sofas or loveseats (too heavy)
- NO Particleboard desks, entertainment centers, or bookcases (too fragile)
- NO Large entertainment centers (small, lightweight is ok)
- NO L-shaped (too big) or metal (too heavy) desks
- NO Large pianos or organs (no exceptions – dangerous to move)
- NO Large commercial office furniture (doesn’t sell)
- NO Loose Christmas trees (must be in a bag or box)
- NO Rugs larger than 10 feet
- **Large armoires and china cabinets need to have pictures approved
