Hello April

Ed Reflections

We are welcoming April with a combination of side eye and open arms …LOL. Many of us are ready for spring yet others of us are tired of the pollen that’s aggravating our allergies. No matter where you are on that spectrum April has officially informed us that spring is springing.

Let's take a moment to revel in the collective resilience and strength that flows within our Greater Richmond LGBTQ+ community. Despite the challenges we face, we continue to stand tall, united by love, acceptance, and unwavering determination to check on each other and make space for hugs, tears, and laughter. Join me and the Diversity Richmond staff, board and pride planning committee in the celebration of our powerful resilience and expression of heartfelt gratitude for the love and support that sustains us.

April 2024 is the start of a new quarter, a marking of a solar eclipse and the buzz of summer plans. While Pride Month is still several weeks away, it's never too early to start planning! Stay connected to our social media and website as we begin sharing dates for virtual celebrations, local events, or community projects that are sure to make this Pride Month unforgettable!!

You’re invited to share your ideas, suggestions, and stories with us, and let's make Pride 2024 the most inclusive and joyous yet!

I am excited to announce Diversity Richmond’s participation in Give Out Day 2024 beginning May 1st. This national fundraising event lasts the full 31 days of May with a culmination giving day happening May 31st. Mark your calendars for Diversity’s official Give Out Day party, Friday, May 31st starting at 5pm with a VIP reception and 7pm for everyone. Come on out to celebrate with us!

Stay connected to our IG and Facebook accounts - Diversity Richmond, Diversity Thrift and VA Pride for ways to support our mission to be the hub of the LGBTQ+ community of Greater Richmond connecting people, partners, and programs in our work as a catalyst, a voice, a place and a resource.

Until then, happy spring!
