Cathy Vaughn is a full-time copper artisan at her studio, Tracery 157 in Richmond, Va. This show focused on her cold forged and soldered works and how they interact with light and shadows. Stylist Douglas D’Urso assisted with the design of the installation.

Cathy is a juried member of the Carolina Designer Craftsman Guild, a Master Craftsman in the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, and received the Visual Arts Center of Richmond’s 2015 Award for the Innovative Use of Traditional Craft Materials. While growing up in rural South Carolina, she learned the maker’s ethic from her father, a master Marquetarian and accomplished tinkerer. She currently resides in Richmond with Katie Fessler, her wife of 21 years.
