Accommodating our wonderful donors and protecting our staff
A while back, because of pandemic issues we stopped picking up donated furniture. The safety of our employees has always been a top priority for us. We have now resumed that service, but with certain provisions.
All donated furniture must be left outside in the front yard or on the sidewalk. Diversity staff will not enter homes. If donors meet with the drivers, they must wear masks and observe six feet distancing. Furniture will be disinfected by Diversity Thrift staff before being placed on the truck. Once the donations are delivered to the store, they remain in storage before being placed on the sales floor. Furniture is also disinfected again before being placed in the store. Tax donation forms will be left by our drivers.
Our truck is now on the road Monday-Wednesday. To make an appointment, please call 804-353-8890.
A new entrance door provides a safer one way entry and exit. Three PODS on the lot for donations.
Safety signage at the entry door lets shoppers know that masks are required as is maintaining a six foot distance between shoppers. Hand sanitizer is available in many places throughout the store. Restrooms and fitting rooms are closed.
Plexiglass panels provide a barrier between shoppers and staff at checkout. Stephanie and all of our staff members are required to wear masks.
Our credit/debit card chip reader provides a safer no touch transaction.
Floor signage reminds shoppers to stay six feet apart.
Thank you for supporting Diversity Richmond with your household donations, your cash donations, and your store patronage. We couldn't do what we do without your support!
