The conversation-styled program entitled “What Do We Do Now?” will take place on March 23rd at 7pm in the Diversity Richmond Event Hall. We are honored to have in attendance, Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Mandy Carter. Mandy is one of the co-founders of Southerners on New Ground (SONG) and she is the recipient of the 2006 Spirit of Justice Award from Boston's Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) for her work on LGBT civil rights in the United States, just one of many awards and accolades.
This casual round-table event will not only be an opportunity for lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered women to honor our history-makers, but also an opportunity to recognize those who are making history now in our city, as well as a time to discuss next steps in the women’s movement.
There is no charge for this event. Community Partners will have information about their projects in a resource area. There an optional potluck, and a brunch Saturday morning 10am-12noon.
We want to thank our sponsors: Benson Insurance and Financial Services Allstate Agency (Eileen Edmonds), Wanda Fears and Associates www.bestRVAhomes.com, and Law Office of Katie D. Fletcher, Ltd.
