The Queer Queens of Qomedy are coming to Richmond VA, June 23, 2018 at 3:30 PM
From Showtime’s Pride the Gay and Lesbian Comedy Slam, Poppy Champlin has been knocking ‘em out with the funny for 25 years. Poppy is producing this two-city tour that goes from Richmond, VA. and then to the Virginia Beach FunnyBone. Headlining the Tour is LGBTQ comedy favorite Vickie Shaw. Vickie is from Texas where she observes that, “The speed limit, is a suggestion.” A veteran comic whose beautiful Southern style belies her sharp-edged wit and hilarity. Shaw was part of Comedy Central’s flagship show Premium Blend and she has a one-hour comedy special on LOGO called “You Can Take The Girl Out of Texas”. Vickie is also a regular on Olivia cruises and in P-Town. She is a mother and grandmother, and says she “just happens to be a lesbian”. The third Queen to rule this stage is Jess Miller. Her Comedy style is infectious immediate. Jess placed in the top three of The Devil Cup Comedy Festival in NYC in 2016. She performs throughout New England in such venues as Foxwoods, The Comedy Connection and Caroline’s in New York City.
Poppy is thrilled to make this a benefit show for Diversity Richmond and will donate some proceeds to the center. The show sponsor is Sapphire Books, the gem in lesbian publishing. If you want to laugh till the cows come home, come see the Queens and leave with a laughter-induced royal pain in your side.
Tickets are $25 for General admission and $40 for VIP, which includes preferred seating and a meet and greet with the comedians before the show. Showtime 3:30 PM
